Ladies and Gentlemen start your engines. It’s the start of the Gothenburg Beer Week – Weekly Update
To start with we’d like to thank everyone who showed up at our stand during the Växjö Beer Festival. It’s always good to meet so many new people to share our beer with. See you again next year.
Then yesterday was the start of the Gothenburg Beer Week.
The week started with a bus tour of four breweries. They started at Dugges, then Vega, followed by us at Beerbliotek, then off to Stigbergets and ended of at Kino, a pub in town. Thanks to everyone who came to say hi. We hope you enjoyed the cans of Single Hop Mosaic and Session IPA. Have a look on the GBG Beer Week website for all events, or download their app, to get closer to the action.
With such a tour at our brewery we always talk about our history, and last night was no different. It just felt like such a long time ago since we brewed our first beer on 19 February 2013.
Not sure how many people remember that first beer. A Black Ale with Chilli. It’s still part of our assortment, and still one of our favourite beers. The label may have changed over the last three and a bit years, but the description still holds true.
“Our Black Ale Chilli is our very first beer and has a bit of a kick. We add dried red chillies to the fermenter for a hint of fruit and to create a dry, spicy finish.”
Then last night we may or may not have tasted our first and very own sour beer at our Sockerbruket brewery. It may or may not be called “Sour berry quite contrary”. And you may or may not be able to taste it during the Gothenburg Beer and Whisky Festival or the Copenhagen Beer Celebration. It follows up on our first collaboration Sour Beer we did together with Brekeriet and Beavertown, called “Lovechild“. More information on our sour beer may or may not follow 🙂
For those taking part in the Gothenburg Beer Week, see you around town. We’ll be at the Haket Beer Festival today so if you have tickets, see you there. For those that can’t make it, it’s time to plan for next year.
Have a fantastic weekend.
