News updates from the brewery
Declan Povey, our latest brewery helper.
Declan is from Uttoxeter, West Midlands of England (hence his love for Marmite). Like a lot of us here, he moved to Gothenburg for love. In return, Gothenburg led Declan to his love of Craft Beer and his interest in brewing. Before helping out in our brewery, Declan toured the world as a Sound Engineer with bands like Tool, The Who and LCD Sound System. That's one of the many reasons why we think he is the coolest.
Johannes Blomqvist, our latest brewery helper, created a Rauchbier.
Here at Beerbliotek, we give our brewery interns an opportunity to design and brew their own recipe, as part of their brewery education with us. Through our side project, which we call Beerbliotek Experimental Brews, they have the freedom to experiment, gain valuable experience, confidence and knowledge on how to work with beer, before they head out into the world. Johannes beer, Experimental Brew: Rauchbier, will be available at our Tap Room and at one of our local Restaurant Piga.
Christoffer Olsson, our brewery intern, created a Red Ale (Cask).
After spending some time shadowing our brewers, and getting his hands dirty in our brewery, Christoffer designed and brewed his own recipe. He created a Red Ale, which turned out to be our first intern brew to go into casks!
Johan Hesselberg, our latest brewery helper.
From years of home-brewing “limited styles using limited resources in a very small space”, Johan accepted the challenge of designing and brewing his own beer, on a much bigger scale. Through his education with us here at Beerbliotek, we were able to provide him with a lot more freedom, opportunities and guidance to make the most of his creation.
Molly Hedenquist, our latest brewery helper.
Our staff are the reason Beerbliotek is what it is. And what would a brewery be without its fair share of interns helpin...
Linda Bengtström, our latest brewery helper.
Introducing Linda Bengtström, who started as an intern with us mid-January, and will be here through to the summer.
Oskar Wallén, an ex footballer with a big heart
This week we’re catching up with Oskar Wallén, the newest addition to our Beerbliotek team. He’s the new Oskar here at Beerbliotek, working together with the other Oscar as our awesome Sales Representatives.
Richard Bull, who most likely either has a camera or a Pilsner in his hand.
This week we’re catching up with Richard Bull, one of the original founders of Beerbliotek who’s had a hand in most things throughout the brewery over the years. Nowadays he is guiding us through this crazy year while leading Beerbliotek towards greater things as our Managing Director.
This New Zealander got his first taste for Craft Beer when living in Scotland where he met the other original founder of Beerbliotek, Adam. His Craft beer journey truly began after sitting next to the canal as the sun went down drinking some crazy 14% Barrel Aged Stout at Brouwerij de Molen Borefts Beer Festival in 2011 is where he first thought this is what he wants to do with his life. You could say that moment was the very beginning of Beerbliotek.
Axel Hagman, who has the best flavour palate out of all of us
This week we’re catching up with Axel Hagman, who first appeared at Beerbliotek way back in Season 2 2014. He made his way here starting out as an apprentice whilst studying Brewing technology, we liked him so much that he was hired immediately after and has become a mainstay in our brewery line up.
Darryl De Necker, the man behind the brand
This week we’re catching up with Darryl De Necker, the one who makes our cans look pretty while somehow fitting in all those lengthy and witty beer names. You can even learn the history of our brewery if you have a look under the labels. He’s the reason why you can find our beers all over the world and is the man behind the brand that brings life and colour to our beer library..
