In this week’s Brewery Update, we prepare for a big weekend at the Beerbliotek Tap Room where we premiere out outdoor serving area, we’ve packaged a new black beer on Monday, and we’re heading to the Edinburgh Craft Beer Festival for the first time this year.

We’re also publishing the weekly brewery update on Tuesdays from now on, so hope you keep on following our news 🙂

Our biggest Tap Takeover yet. 14 Taps at Bishops Arms Hornsgatan.

A “smaller” Tap Takeover with us and Mikrofonbryggeriet is on this coming Thursday 25 May. Henrik, or rather Sally our Salesman, will be on site in Stockholm mingling during the evening and it promises to be epic. Do not miss this!!

Check out the Facebook Event, where you can see the list of no less than 14 beers that we will bring with us. As mentioned, do not miss this!!

Premiere weekend for the Tap Room in the sun.

Come and join us for the premiere of our outside seating area and have some beers with your family and friends at our Tap Room. We’re open again for the public as a pub on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Doors open Friday 17-21, Saturday 14-19 and Sunday 12-19. Sunday is Megaloppis in Majorna, which you can read about further down.

At our Tap Room, there’s no bookings required, just show up with your family, friends, babies and dogs. Everyone is welcome. We sell a tastings of any available beer for 35kr each or you can buy a ten-card for 320kr. As always we will have ten beers available. Four on tap and six in the fridge.

Our outdoor serving area starts getting sun at around 15h00, and it only get sunnier after that, so don’t miss out on this weekend’s premiere. It’s going to be packed 🙂

Tap Room Pizza available from our friends down the road 🙂

This weekend we will again be offering pizzas from our local Pizzeria Götas. There’s nine pizzas to choose from and you pay at the bar and delivery is in around 30 minutes to the Tap Room. Both Fridays and Saturdays, so you’ll never have to go hungry again while drinking beer at our Tap Room.

It’s party time. Megaloppis in Majorna.

Now it’s about time for Megaloppis i Majorna 2017! On May 28, parks and pavements in the district of Majorna will be filled again by flea-shopping people and locals who want to sell things.

We at Beerbliotek want to be a part of that and we warmly welcome you to join us at the Beerbliotek Brewery and Tap Room for Pop-up Shops, Food, Music, Tattoos & Beer with our friends. Our Bar & Tap Room will be open where you can buy some of our beer and below are some of our friends who will be at the brewery for the day.

Vintage stores Easy Living & Lokalen GBG will sell their wares. Höga Nord Rekords will sell records. Tom Surma from Restaurang Familjen will mix some beer cocktails. 5 Points Tattoo will do some spontaneous tattoos for those who dare. Basque will be on site making great food (Meat and Vegan). DJs Punky (Soulastatic), Höga Nord Rekords, Agaton and Susanne will keep the music going.

If you don’t know how to get to the Tap Room, then the easiest is Public Transport: Tram 9 or 11 to Sandarna.

Hello Edinburgh. We’re heading your way.

This year for the first time we’ve been invited to the Edinburgh Craft Beer Festival 2017 on the 26th – 28th May, at The Biscuit Factory. Richard will be heading over to make some new friends and we’re sure get up to some mischief with some old friends. Come by and say hi.

“The world class beer festival that Edinburgh deserves is here; a celebration of passion, creativity and quality in brewing. Over the last May Bank Holiday weekend, we’re bringing together a specially curated, global gathering of the world’s finest breweries in a one-off festival. The Biscuit Factory – a vast, impressive warehouse –  will play host to this gathering, and we’ll be filling its cavernous industrial spaces with only the most sought after beers and brewers.

This is no normal beer festival. One ticket gives you freedom to discover all the best breweries and beers under one festival roof. No tokens. No hassle, no queues, just good times exploring the hundreds of super special beers being poured.  Beyond that, culinary tour de force, The Pitt, Edinburgh’s best street food market, will create a one-off menu. Lastly, we’ll be putting on live music and DJs from Edinburgh’s best talent.”

And if the news is anything to go by, then Scotland is the place to be. Read more…

A global gathering of quality beer.

A new black beer. No Style without Substance.

A new style of beer has been emerging from the breweries of the Pacific Northwest of the US. Dark like a Porter, but hoppy like an IPA. Some call it a Cascadian Dark Ale. Others call it a Black IPA. The jury is very much still in recess.

We’ve done Black IPAs before, our last one being Sabotage, our collaboration with O|O Brewing. This one we decided to call a Cascadian Dark Ale, or rather Imperial Cascadian Dark Ale. Here’s a quote from an article about this specific style.

“Variety is the spice of life. For hundreds of years, wine drinkers have enjoyed many different wine varieties and a vast array of vintages. Beer aficionados, especially those in the US, have not been so lucky. It has only been since the late 70s and early 80s that a wider variety of beer styles have become readily available. We are now blessed with 78 beer styles, many with sub-categories, recognized by the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Most of these have been around for many years, with fewer styles being recent additions. That is what makes the birth  of a new beer style exciting.”

And finally…

Thanks to everyone who came by to say hi at the Danske Ølentusiaster in Copenhagen, and the Bergen Craft Beer Festival. It’s always great to also meet craft beer people outside of Sweden, in all the countries we export to. Thanks for the great feedback and see you all again next year.

That’s it from us for this week, until next week.

Keep well.

🙂
