I woke up woke this morning
This deep golden Gose bursts with sweet, tropical fruit cocktail aromas. It’s a tart, fruity mash of Mango, Melon, Passion Fruit and Strawberry with a salty kick. The salt balances and transforms the palette from all things tropical, sweet and juicy into a complex savoury experience making you thirsty for more.
Style: Fruit Gose
Alc: 6,3%
This beer is named after the debates on people being woke, some people being too woke, and others not woke enough. The text describes a person sleeping, but with some of the words hidden, it will test if you’re woke, too woke, or not woke enough. The colours represent the fact that there’s four different fruits in this beer, a Gose, traditionally brewed with Salt.
Søren and Emil, from Dry and Bitter, came over from Denmark to our brewery to hang out with us, and of course, brew up a special beer. The initial idea was to brew an Imperial Gose with Guava and Passionfruit. And that was the plan! Until we weren’t able to get Guava for the big day. But this is all part of the fun when you’re in the craft beer industry. Obstacles happen, challenges are faced and all you can do is to improvise, and in this case, try to make something with a similar base to Guava.
Craft beer isn’t always by design. It is sometimes by chance, and changing your initial path along the way. We decided to put in Strawberry and Melon aiming to replicate Guava, the initial spark to the recipe. The improvised changes weren’t to dominate or take the beer into another direction, but to be a part of the tropical mash gang and get that Guava-ish aspect.
You know you’re in for a fruity ride with straight away with all the fruits listed on the can. This beer is a sum of all its components, but becomes a complex journey which we love the most about it. The beer itself is one thing, but it leaves you thinking. It’s all about the experience with this one. We imagine eating fruit salad on a tropical island, the sea breeze washing over you…
We’ve done a lot of events with Dry and Bitter and have been friends with them for a very long time. This is our second collab together and the first at our Brewery.
Our first collab together was Pissed Volunteers #142, a 6,8% Saison.
Dry & Bitter Brewing super-fresh IPAs, smooth Porters and tangy Sours since 2015. Denmark based, International taste. Definitely check these guys out & keep up with all the amazing things they’re doing.
We are Beerbliotek
A Craft Brewery founded in Gothenburg (Sweden) by four friends from different parts of the world. Our brewing philosophy is simple… keep brewing new beers that we, ourselves, would want to drink.
Our name is derived from the Latin word bibliothēca, meaning library, or a collection of books. A Beerbliotek, for us, would then mean a beer library, or a collection of beer.
