Looking back at 2021
Wow! 2021 has been an emotional roller coaster for everyone here at Beerbliotek. It has been an incredibly challenging and rewarding year with too many up’s and down’s to count but I wanted to take a few minutes to reflect on what has been, where we are going, and of course to thank all of you for your support this year.
Beer Release #324 Stocking filler – Schwarzbier
Over the past few years, Schwarzbier, also known as a Black Lager, has become one of our Christmas brewing traditions. We designed this year's beer as the perfect stocking gift for your loved one. An ideal, small gift to enjoy when the Christmas lunch preparations have begun. A beer style you can trust on any festive table, which pairs excellently with traditional Christmas recipes.
GLOW-along 2021
GLOW-along is our collaboration with G.L.O.W. & Yakima Chief Hops. This Kveik IPA is part of a collective brew project, created by G.L.O.W. to tackle gender bias in the brewing industry, and give back to the community. We used a special GLOW Community Hop Selection (YCH Loral, Sorachi Ace, HBC 472 Cryo) and one local ingredient. We chose Swedish Sugar Kelp (Sockertång), sourced from sustainable Swedish coastal Seafarms.
Majornas Bryggeri
This week we are shining the light on Majorna Bryggeri, a small Swedish brewery with a passion for the culture and community in Craft beer, that led to becoming Gothenburg’s first Brewpub. As it happens, as of last weekend their brewery pub is now one year old. So on their one year anniversary, we met up with Johan Lundin to share our love of Gothenburg’s diverse beer culture, their idea behind introducing a brewpub to Sweden, and of course Supporting your locals.
Restaurant Piga
This week we crossed the river to Restaurant Piga, one of our longest and most loyal customers. They do good quality, seasonal based Swedish food that has a modern touch to it. Each staff member is an expert in their field, they know what they have and what they do best. Somehow they manage to get it right for you every time. So when you visit Piga, sit back and relax, and let them take care of you. We talk over with Majsan what Piga is all about, our history, their ‘The Day Laborer’ concept, and of course Supporting your locals.
Ölrepubliken
Last week we caught up with our long time friends Ölrepubliken, the bar we launched our very first beer at. We chat about the famous beer tastings, their many, many beers, and of course Supporting your locals.
Tapasbaren
This week we walked down the road from our brewery to catch up with the wonderful people at Tapasbaren. We sat down at our favourite corner table in their new enclosed outdoor seating area, taking in the warm and calm ambience with a view through the windows onto the charming streets of Majorna.
